Yves Brayer ( 1907 - 1990 )

Yves Brayer was a French painter who excelled in the field between World War l and World War ll. He traveled to Spain, Morocco and Italy where his most influential paintings of Mediterranean landscapes were inspired. In the year 1945, his subject took an architectural focus, where he strove to highlight the beauty and diversity that made up the European country side. He was passionate about painting every-day life much like his 19th century influences; Gustav Corbet, Vuillard and Bonnard. He has two published, Catalouge Raisonńe's that encompass the impressive and vibrant works executed throughout his life. He was born in Versailles and died in Paris.
