Adolfo Doring

Adolfo Doring is a prolific multi-disciplinarian artist whose work is as aesthetic as it is informed by a preoccupation with societal structures. His work, whether in film, photography or video installation is deepened by undertones of wry humor.  The work sheds a light onto the humor that our human predicaments conceal while capturing a semblance of order within the chaos of life.

“I spend my life either trying to capture order from chaos in bursts of one five-hundredth of a second, or trying to create a semblance of chaos out of order in one second exposures.”

Born in Mexico City, a New Yorker for over thirty years Adolfo’s work is informed by a multi-cultural experience that extends to all corners of the world. His work in music video has earned him an MTV music video award, his documentaries have earned him critical praise and his video installations have travelled the world over, most recently ‘Coming Soon’ was acquired into the permanent collection of the MUSEOLABORATORIO  in Italy.
